Meet Sarah: Bringing the MYO Member Experience to Life

If you’ve spent any time at MYO Liverpool Street, there’s a good chance you’ll have met Sarah. As Member Experience Executive, she’s one of the people helping to make the everyday at MYO feel effortless – bringing 14 years of customer service and operations experience to the role, with a career spanning reception, floor coordination and office management within the meetings and events world.

Outside of work, Sarah’s biggest passion is music. She loves discovering new artists and seeing them live, and has travelled to Los Angeles, New York and South Korea to catch artists on tour.

A familiar space, a new opportunity

Not everyone joins a workplace having already experienced it as a customer. Sarah did – giving her an unusual perspective on what a great MYO experience looks and feels like before she ever became part of the team.

I’d used MYO’s premium meeting space while working at my previous company. When I heard there was a role available at MYO, I instantly applied. I loved the team and the space itself when I came in for an interview and, thankfully, I was successful!”

Today, that perspective still matters. Sarah knows what it feels like to walk into MYO as a guest, and now she gets to help make sure members and visitors leave with that same impression.

The little details behind the MYO member experience

At MYO, member experience is personal. Sarah and the team get to know the people behind the businesses – their names, how they work and what can make their day that little bit easier.

Sometimes that means helping to get everything just right ahead of an important meeting. Other times, it might be noticing what someone needs before they even have to ask. For Sarah, it’s those thoughtful, everyday moments that turn a workspace into somewhere people genuinely enjoy coming to.

Small moments, lasting impressions

For Sarah, one of the best parts of the role is seeing the difference those everyday interactions can make – whether that’s making someone’s day run a little more smoothly or simply giving them a reason to smile.

That came through loud and clear in the annual Net Promoter member survey:

“It made me incredibly proud to see that we make a difference to the everyday lives of our members. One member even said we made them feel as if they were our only client – it’s such an incredible compliment to be given.”

And the recognition hasn’t stopped there. The MYO Liverpool Street team was also recently shortlisted for a BCO Customer Service Award – a proud moment for Sarah and a lovely reflection of the experience the team has created together.

More ways to work, all in one place

The way people use the office is changing, and Sarah sees this first-hand. One thing members are asking for more of? Privacy.

Alongside open, social spaces, there’s growing demand for somewhere to step away for a call, focus without interruption or have a quick one-to-one. That’s why phone booths – both single and two-person – have become an increasingly important part of the MYO mix.

It’s all about giving members more choice throughout the day – a place to come together when they want to, and somewhere quieter when they don’t. Keeping member feedback at the heart of that evolution helps MYO continue to shape spaces around how people actually work.

What makes MYO Liverpool Street special?

At MYO Liverpool Street, Sarah has had plenty of time to discover what makes the space – and its surroundings – so distinctive. From the natural light and views across London to having some of the City’s best-connected streets on the doorstep, there was plenty to make an impression from the start:

“I love how light and bright the space is. It’s also such an incredible area. Easy access to central London with so many transport links.”

Of course, spending that much time in the neighbourhood comes with its perks too – and Spitalfields Market has become one of Sarah’s favourite lunchtime spots.

A new chapter at MYO King’s Cross

After three and a half years at Liverpool Street, Sarah is swapping one MYO home for another as she heads to King’s Cross.

She’ll be getting to know a new member community and spending more time at The Stables, MYO’s dedicated events space at King’s Cross, where her background in meetings and events feels especially well placed.

Safe to say, King's Cross is in very good hands!
