Step Inside MYO King’s Cross: From features to design

A recent study by the UK Government found that several factors impact workers’ wellbeing and productivity. These factors include office layout, temperature, furniture type, and lighting.

At MYO, we are always finding new ways to create spaces for businesses and employees. Our new serviced office in King’s Cross is our biggest example so far. You have seen our new workspace in earlier blogs. Today, we will look closely at what makes MYO King’s Cross a great place to work. Read on to step inside our newest workspace, and learn more about the thinking behind this dynamic environment.

Flexible workspace in King’s Cross

MYO King’s Cross is designed by London based SODA Studio. Every feature, element, and texture is carefully planned. The goal is to create a polished and functional space for businesses of all sizes and sectors.

Targeting the WELL Platinum certification, our King’s Cross workspaces are not only adaptable but sustainable. As Natasha Morris, Director of Flex Office at Landsec, puts it:

“Businesses are seeking well-designed workspaces that can adapt effortlessly to their evolving needs and provide their teams with amenities to enable collaboration and support their team’s wellbeing.

“Flexible working isn’t just about offering businesses an office or a meeting room; it’s about developing vibrant spaces where companies of all sizes can adapt and thrive.”

MYO King’s Cross exemplifies what it means to offer flexible office space in the truest sense of the term, with a footprint of over 80,000 sq ft.

Let’s take a closer look at the office spaces to rent in King’s Cross.

Prioritising privacy

When leasing a workspace, one of the top priorities for modern businesses is privacy. Oftentimes, collaborative, rentable spaces lack sufficient provisions for private work, making operations not only awkward at times but unsuitable for maintaining important standards.

Aware of the peace of mind and professionalism that adequate private spaces offer companies, our King’s Cross workspace consists of private offices of all sizes that can be fitted out to suit every team size and organisation.

Phone booths

To ensure our customers have adequate privacy, we also have strategically-positioned phone booths in both our private offices and communal areas.

Be it hosting a job interview or delivering a confidential message, your company shouldn’t have to compromise on privacy when renting a flexible, serviced office space.

Room for organic collaboration

At the other end of the spectrum are spaces which are designed to foster organic collaboration and communal working.

As more and more businesses are reaping the benefits of the post-pandemic return to office, a spotlight has been shone on workplace culture phenomena, like ‘water cooler chats’. The importance of unstructured conversations between colleagues has been overlooked in the past; however, these informal interactions build the basis of workplace culture, and are often credited as being the origin of new business ideas.

An ecosystem, not an office

You’d be mistaken for thinking that organic collaboration actually happens completely organically. If workspaces are not configured and designed to foster these natural interactions, they happen far less often.

At MYO King’s Cross, we’ve created an ecosystem, not an office. A space where workers are equally able to access private spaces as much as they are encouraged to collaborate by the very layout of the office.

?      Our spacious tea and coffee-making stations prevent clusters and queues, instead allowing for a natural flow of traffic, with space to stop and interact if desired.

?      Our communal terraces allow those taking a break to have a peaceful moment, or sit and chat if they wish.

?      The centre point of our workspace is a large, sweeping communal space that has different configurations of furniture, to accommodate varying types of interaction — from meeting breakouts and table-top brainstorming to informal chatter over lunch.

Making meetings make sense

While the business benefits of unstructured, organic interactions are numerous, organised meetings are equally as essential.

On average, employees spend 392 hours a year in meetings, and the average organisation spends approximately 15% of its time in meetings. That being said, if your company’s meetings are to make sense and be as effective as possible, you need the right space to facilitate them.

Meticulous meeting room design

We worked closely with SODA Studio to design a series of meeting rooms capable of facilitating structured collaboration as easily as possible. In our King’s Cross workspace, we have 11 bookable meeting rooms of all different sizes (between 4 and 30 people), each with enough space for comfortable attendance, alongside all the tech equipment needed for seamless connection, presentation, and casting. We also have 13 inbuilt meeting rooms across our private offices.

Spacious enterprise suites

While rentable workspaces are often seen as a solution tailored only to start-ups and small businesses, this is not the case at MYO.

King’s Cross has a number of enterprise suites available for up to 108 desks (or combined to provide space for over 200 desks). Within these suites, your business can enjoy built-in meeting rooms and some private terraces.

Play host proudly

Oftentimes, workspace rentals simply don’t have the facilities required for their clients to put on sophisticated gatherings, such as seminars, training days, and conferences.

When we designed MYO King’s Cross with SODA Studio however, we were keen to make ourselves an exception to the rule. Not only do we have bookable event space on the ground and lower ground floors of the main building but we also have an additional stand alone events space, The Stables. Then Stables is 13,000 sq ft of flexible event space perfect for conferences, fashion shows, exhibitions, receptions and more.

Make a lasting first impression

We understand the importance of a first impression. In fact, it’s been proven to take as little as a tenth of a second for a first impression to be formed. That’s why, as a business, it’s essential to ensure that your brand’s initial touchpoints with potential customers and stakeholders are polished to perfection.

When hosting an event, prestige and portraying the quality of your brand through your chosen venue is key — and The Stables, our events space, can certainly do some heavy lifting there. With excellent AV technology and numerous packages available, The Stables can function as a grand auditorium, separate project rooms, numerous boardrooms, or a large social space, centring the spotlight on your business as a capable host.

Worker wellbeing

With 79% of employees experiencing moderate-to-high stress levels in their form of employment in 2024, it has never been more critical for employers to look after the people looking after their business.

One of the most effective ways of taking care of your people at work is improving their working environment — and our King’s Cross office makes this easy. From our fully-fitted members-only gym and studio to our wellness rooms and end of trip facilities, there is plenty of space beyond the confines of the private office that works hard to support a healthy work-life balance for your employees.

Aside from dedicated well-being features, the office itself is designed to be kind to those who work there, with ample natural light throughout, biophilic design to promote calm, natural, responsibly sourced materials to create a non-toxic working environment, and generous space (even in corridors).

Get up close with MYO King’s Cross

Our King’s Cross offices will open on September 2025 and it’s our largest workspace yet. You can be sure that every detail has been carefully chosen. This includes the seating in our meeting rooms and the textiles in our breakout spaces.
