When you consider how much time an employee spends in the workplace, it makes sense for businesses to create an environment that has a positive impact on employee wellbeing.
At Myo, we place a high value on wellness within our office architecture and design. Our spaces have been thoughtfully mapped out to enhance and enrich your employees’ working day.
So, if you’re interested in learning more about how we’ve prioritised workplace wellbeing at our Bankside offices, read on.
Why is workplace wellbeing important?
Promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace is important for productivity, employee motivation and happiness, so it’s in a company’s best interest to place this as a high priority.
A 2023 report from MHFA England indicated that one in five UK workers felt unable to manage stress and pressure in the workplace. Making positive changes to the work environment can have a significant impact on your employees wellbeing, with the benefits for your business including lower rates of absenteeism, increased employee engagement, a more positive, open culture, and much more.
According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), employers should focus on a holistic approach to support people’s physical, mental and social wellbeing. But what does this mean in practice?
Prioritising workplace wellbeing at our Bankside offices
We are proud of our WELL Core Gold certification, a rating system for the characteristics of built spaces that impact people’s health and wellbeing. This includes lighting, temperature and air quality, elements that we take very seriously in our design process at Myo.
Our Bankside office takes into account environmental and social factors in order to effectively benefit and improve employee wellness. Find out more about how we’ve implemented WELL into Bankside here.

Quiet spaces
At Myo Bankside, we have incorporated a range of quiet, private communal areas that are perfect for confidential meetings. These spaces are designed with tranquillity in mind, offering a calm and relaxing environment for your employees to undertake meetings that, in some cases, may be a tad stressful at times.
As well as quiet spaces, our Bankside office is also home to a lounge and bar, outdoor area and cafe, where your employees can enjoy a lunchtime break or some well-earned relaxation after a day at work.
Biophilic design
Adding biophilia to a workspace can be key to increasing productivity, motivation and happiness. A 2023 report from the Mental Health Foundation highlighted the important relationship between mental health and nature, and how connecting with nature can reduce stress.
At Myo, we’ve long understood the benefits of incorporating biophilia into the design and layout of an office space. For our Bankside location, we integrated plants throughout, even creating a landscaped terrace with a biodiverse roof to encourage both wellbeing and ecology.
Natural light & ventilation
At Myo, we encourage the use of natural light and ventilation in support of positive employee wellbeing.
There are plenty of health benefits associated with natural light, including increased productivity, better sleep, improved mood and reduced eye strain. Not only this, natural light also reduces energy costs for your business, so it’s really a win-win for both employer and employees.
Equally, it’s essential that offices have good ventilation to remove harmful pollutants and increase the flow of fresh air. It not only has positive health benefits but helps to increase productivity, too.
End-of-trip facilities
To make it easy for employees to prioritise their physical health, we’ve made commuting to work much simpler. Whether employees enjoy cycling or running to work, our Bankside office provides a seamless end-of-trip experience, with on-site cycle storage and changing facilities available for all residents to use.

Social enrichment
Lastly, if you’re looking to enhance your employees social wellness, we’ve created an enriching programme of events that shine a spotlight on local issues within our community.
We believe having the opportunity to support local causes and inclusive initiatives can play a huge role in a person’s mental wellbeing, which is why we highlight and assist with a number of inclusive initiatives and campaigns that focus on creating a fairer, more equal society, including Pride and Black History Month.
We also curate art exhibitions to bring colour and excitement to the transitional areas of our office – often based on social or environmental causes.
